Kovo 31- balandžio 3d. Budapešte, Vengrijoje įvyks Europos žaliųjų partijų suvažiavimas. Jame dalyvaus ir Lietuvos Žaliųjų Sąjūdžio atstovai – valdybos nariai Iveta Balčiūnienė, Gintaras Saldžiūnas ir Saulius Pikšrys. Šio suvažiavimo metu planuojama perskaityti Lietuvos Žaliųjų Sąjūdžio deklaraciją, kurią rasite žemiau (lietuvišką ir anglišką versijas).

Brangūs kolegos, bendraminčiai – Europos žalieji,
Pagaliau galime jums pasakyti: ,, Mes Lietuvos žalieji, kurie širdimi ir protu buvome su jumis, dabar de jure tapome jūsų partneriais.” Visai neseniai, kovo 20 dieną buvo įkurta Lietuvos Žaliųjų Sąjūdžio partija, taigi žaliosios ideologijos plėtra Europoje padengė paskutiniąją teritoriją prie Baltijos jūros.
Žalioji ideologija Lietuvoje vystėsi kartu su jaunos demokratinės valstybės socialiniais procesais. Prieš dvidešimt metų, Nepriklausomybės pradžioje Lietuvoje aktyviai reiškėsi ekologiniai judėjimai, buvo daug entuziazmo ir vilčių, tačiau anuometinis judėjimas neišaugo į įtakingą politinę jėgą. Galbūt žaliųjų politikos tikslus užgožė rimtesnės anų dienų realijos, susijusios su realiu nepriklausomybės įtvirtinimu tokioje komplikuotije geografinėje vietoje, prie Baltijos jūros, tarp Rusijos ir Vakarų Europos.
Tačiau per visus tuos dvidešimt metų daugelio žmonių sąmonėje ekologinė pasaulėžiūra ir žalioji ideologija tik augo ir stiprėjo, apimdama praktiškai visus socialinius sluoksnius. Šiandien Lietuvoje daugumai aišku, kad mes nebegalime toliau gyventi gamtos sąskaita, nebegalime be saiko eikvoti jos išteklių ir tuo pat metu nuodyti bei teršti savo aplinką.
Tam tikra prasme Lietuvos žmonėms, kurie yra paveldėję tūkstantmečius siekiančią žemdirbių kultūrą, žalioji pasaulėžiūra, kaip ir pagarba Žemei bei gamtai, yra prigimtinė dvasinė vertybė. Mes Lietuvos žalieji matome, kad kad mūsų šalyje vartotojiška pasaulėžiūra dar nėra galutinai suniokojusi gamtos ir žmogaus ryšio, kad žmonės yra labai atviri gamtosaugos problemoms, kad norėtų daug ką keisti. Tai mus palaiko, bet tuo pat metu ir labai rimtai įpareigoja.
Suprantama, kad Žaliųjų partija Lietuvoje įsikūrė ne tik todėl, kad puoselėtų tautines vertybes, ne – mes ryžomės kurti partiją, nes supratome, kad dabartinio gyvenimo problemų nepajėgia išspręsti tos politinės jėgos, kurios tapatina save ar tai su kaire, ar tai su dešine kryptimi. Pasidalijimas į kairę ir dešinę jau praeitis. Nei kairioji, nei dešinioji politika negali realiai įvertinti mūsų civilizacijai kylančių grėsmių, atsiradusių dėl ekologijos dėsnių nepaisymo, negali pasiūlyti Europai naujos ekonominės ir socialinės plėtros modelio, kuris būtų grindžiamas darna tarp gamtos ir žmogaus.
Šiuolaikinės civilizacijos žmones sieja daug glaudesni tarpusavio ryšiai nei mes tai galime objektyviai įvertinti. Todėl šiandien, turėdami galimybę kalbėti Lietuvos Žaliųjų Sąjūdžio Partijos vardu, norime visų jūsų atkreipti dėmesį į visiems kylančią grėsmę, susijusią su branduolinės energetios plėtros planais Lietuvoje ir mūsų pasienyje. Jeigu artimiausioje ateityje mes nesugebėsime pasipriešinti Rusijos, Baltarusijos ir Lietuvos vyriausybių planams, prie Baltijos jūros turėsime tris atominius monstrus. Planuojama Lietuvai po kaklu parišti bent tris atomines bombas. Tačiau šios grėsmingos situacijos įkaitėmis tampa ir visos mūsų kaimynės, ir visos Baltijos valstybės… Galbūt Japonijos įvykių šviesoje šios komercinės, nepamatuota ekonomine nauda pagrįstos ambicijos bus pažabotos. Galbūt…
Todėl, turėdami omenyje Europos žaliųjų patirtį, jūsų intelektualinį ir politinį potencialą, norime paprašyti ypatingo dėmesio šiai dabarties problemai. Mes iš savo pusės pažadame, kad padarysime viską, kad įtikintume savo vyriausybę atisakyti Ignalinos atominės statybos. Mes pažadame, kad šią naštą perimsime ant savo partijos ir Lietuvos žmonių pečių. Tačiau mūsų yra per mažai, kad galėtume paveikti Rusijos ir Baltarusijos vyriausybes. Todėl laukiame Europos žaliųjų paramos, nes tikrai mūsų grėsmės yra bendros, lygiai kaip ir bendra Europos ateities vizija.

Dear colleagues, co-thinkers – European greens,
Finally we can say to you: “We Lithuanian greens who were together with you by our hearts and minds, now have became your partners ”. Not much ago, on the 20th of March, Party of Lithuanian Green Movement was established, so development of the green ideology in Europe has covered that last territory by the Baltic Sea.
The green ideology in Lithuania was developing together with other social processes of the young democratic country. Twenty years ago, in the beginning of Independence, ecological movements were actively expressing themselves in Lithuania, there were plenty of enthusiasm and hopes, but then movement didn’t grow into influential political power. Maybe aims of the greens’ policy were put into the shade by more serious then realities relevant to factual consolidation of the independence in such complicated geographical location, by the Baltic Sea, between Russia and West Europe.
Despite this, ecological world-view in the minds of majority of people and the green ideology was growing and becoming stronger, while involving in fact all social layers. Today it is clear for the majority of people in Lithuania, that we can’t live further on the account on nature, we can’t excessively spend its resources and in the same time poison and pollute our environment.
In a sense, the green world view and the respect to Earth and nature is the natural mental value for Lithuanian people, who inherited tiller culture reaching thousands of years. We, Lithuanian greens, see that in our country the consumer point of view hasn’t yet ruined connection between nature and human, that people are very open to environment protection problems, that they are willing to change many things. It not only supports us, but also very seriously commits us.
It goes without saying that Party of Greens was established in Lithuania not for the promotion of national values, not at all. We decided to establish a party, because we understood that the political powers who are identifying themselves with right or left direction aren’t able to solve the problems of today’s life. Division to the left and to the right is already history. Neither the left, nor the right policy can’t realistically evaluate the threats our civilization are facing because of violating the ecology rules, they can’t offer to Europe new economical and social development model, which would be grounded on the cohesion between nature and human.
Therefore today, with an opportunity to talk from this tribune in the name of Lithuanian greens, we would like to pay all of you attention to a threat we are facing because of nuclear energetic development plans in Lithuania and in the frontier zone. If we won’t be able to stand against the plants of Russian, Belarusian and Lithuanian governments in the near future, we will have three nuclear monsters by the Baltic Sea. At least three nuclear bombs are planned to be weight down to the neck of Lithuania. All our neighbouring countries and all Baltic States are becoming hostages of this dangerous situation… Maybe these commercial ambitions, grounded on the poorly measured economical benefits, shall be curbed in the light of the events in Japan. Therefore, with reference to the experience of European greens, your intellectual and political potential, we would like to ask you pay particular attention to this current problem. On our part we promise to do everything possible to convince our government to reject construction of Ignalina nuclear power plant. We promise that we will take over this burden on the shoulders of our party and Lithuanian people. But it is too few of us to influence Russian and Belorussian government. Therefore we are waiting for the support of European greens, as our threats are joint, in the same way as the joint Europe future vision.
